While permanent forms of art, such as film, painting or sculpting allow their artists to spend time perfecting them, live, performance-driven art forms, such as dancing or stage acting, sometimes lend themselves better to displaying emotion and can connect to their audience better, though almost always at a greater risk of failure. Most every other form of art resides only on either the permanency of its respective canvas, or in the wholly passive and present tense of its audience's attention.

It is both permanent and supposedly perfected when it leaves the studio on plastic or vinyl, but it is immediate, temporary and comparatively imperfect when performed live.
